Counselling Services
Based in Mandurah WA, I offer in-person, online and telehealth counselling services for adults who are struggling with a specific issue or seeking general support. I also offer Women's Health counselling and Trauma counselling.

Women's Mental Health Counselling
Women's mental health counselling offers emotional support to women at all stages of their lives. It can help with a range of issues, including feelings of anxiety and low mood, as well as relationship problems. Counselling for perimenopause and menopause can be a much needed lifeline for women experiencing the many and varied symptoms of menopause. I also offer perinatal counselling to expecting and new mums' facing emotional challenges during or after pregnancy.

General Counselling
General counselling offers individual, face-to-face therapy in a supported space where you can feel heard and understood. Together we will formulate a treatment plan that aims to meet you where you are and work towards where you want to be.

Counselling can provide emotional support for a specific issue you may be struggling with or you may be feeling overwhelmed, shutdown or stuck and needing general support.

Standard individual or couples sessions are 50 minutes.

Trauma Counselling
Trauma counselling is a specialised form of therapy that recognises the unique challenges faced by clients who have experienced trauma. It aims to help clients understand the impact of trauma on their lives, process difficult emotions and memories, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

My Approach
The therapy room is your space. You set the pace. My priority is to create an enviornment where you feel supported. Where your thoughts, emotions and experiences are acknowledged and validated.

Being fully seen, understood and accepted, can be a very empowering experience, especially if we have always felt like we had to make ourselves small or hide who we really are. When we allow ourselves to be seen authentically, we embrace our true selves, all of it, strengths, weaknesses and the little quirks that make us who we are. Through the practice of self-compassion, I help clients to cultivate a more supportive "inner voice". Self-love, self-compassion, and self-forgiveness can all seem confronting at first but are actually teachable skills that can improve your quality of life and overall well-being.

I look for strengths. Always. Sometimes clients need some help identifying their internal strengths and resources. Once identified, we then build on these strengths, increasing your emotional capacity to manage distress. We work on being able to sit with big emotions rather than avoiding them or turning to unhealthy, default ways of coping.

I often use the practices of mindfulness and somatic awareness to help reduce symptoms of distress and improve overall mental health. Mindfulness helps you to intentionally stay focused on the present moment. It encourages you to observe your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations without judgement or reactivity. Somatic awareness helps you to become more attuned to physical sensations in your body and how these relate to emotions and experiences. Both practices increase self-awareness and enhance understanding of the mind-body connection. These practices help to create a sense of safety, allowing you to devolop positive ways of dealing with challenging emotions.

Therapy should go beyond symptom relief. My focus is on helping you to expand your emotional capacity and mindset to create a more meaningful and connected life. Increased emotional capacity and greater understanding of your inner self, leads to emotional stability allowing for long-lasting changes that enrich your life and improve overall well-being.

My approach is always centred around your individual needs drawing from evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
